Tandem Joy creates beautiful resources that help people notice God, abide in Christ, and joyfully participate in His Kingdom.

What We Hope to Cultivate

If someone spent years walking through Tandem Joy resources, my hope is they would become someone who:

• notices God more readily.

• delights in His presence.

• treasures Scripture.

• walks attentively with the Holy Spirit.

• abides deeply in Christ.

• increasingly reflects His character.

• loves others generously.

• creates beautiful spaces of hospitality.

• joyfully serves the Kingdom.

• naturally gives God the glory by celebrating His faithful work.

Resources are never the destination.

Christ is.

Everything Tandem Joy Publishing creates is shaped by these shared Christian convictions:

• God the Father is our Creator, who lovingly cultivates our lives and draws us to Himself.

• Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, is fully God and fully man. He is the true Vine in whom we abide.

• The Holy Spirit is fully God, our Helper and Teacher, who leads us into fellowship with God and illumines His Word.

• Scripture is God's inspired and trustworthy Word, faithfully shaping our lives and revealing His heart.

• We are called to love God with our whole being and to love our neighbors as ourselves. These two great commandments shape every relationship we cultivate, every resource we create, and every act of service we offer through Tandem Joy.

• The Church is Christ's beloved Bride. Tandem Joy seeks to strengthen the broader Church while honoring the unique role of the local church, respecting denominational differences.

• Every disciple is called to make disciples and joyfully participate in God's Kingdom.

• God created all human beings intentionally, and each bears His image. God does not make mistakes. He created humanity male and female, wonderfully distinct and equally beloved. He delights in the beautiful diversity of peoples, cultures, and nations He has made, and His Kingdom does not erase these distinctions, but gathers them together in Christ. We look toward the beautiful picture of every tribe, language, people, and nation worshiping God together.

• Sin is anything that misses God’s good design for humanity. We were created for loving fellowship with God, to reflect His character and live according to His good purposes. Sin is our choosing our own way instead of His, in thought, desire, attitude, or action. It separates us from the life we were created to enjoy with God and brings brokenness into our relationship with Him, ourselves, one another, and creation. We all sin, and none of us can restore what has been broken through our own goodness or effort.

• Jesus is the only way back to God. Through His perfect life, death in our place, and resurrection, Jesus has done what we could not do for ourselves. He offers forgiveness, reconciliation, freedom, and new life to all who put their faith in Him. He is the only door to a life with God.

Editorial Services for Independent Authors

Tandem Joy recognizes the opportunities and complexity authors face in a print-on-demand publishing environment. TJP offers the editorial care of a boutique publishing house without requiring an editorial client to surrender copyright or share ongoing royalties. Authors may apply to work with Tandem Joy, with preference given to works that fit the company's mission to help people notice God in everyday life.

LITE Editorial Services

LITE services focus on whether a manuscript is effective, beautiful, correct, and consistent on the page without substantially developing its message. The exact scope is defined in the author's contract.

• Copy and line editing appropriate to the agreed scope.

• Grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, usage, and consistency.

• Sentence flow and sentence variety.

• Scripture citation and style consistency.

• Basic formatting and publishing convention guidance.

• Review for whether the manuscript contains the expected pieces of a publishable work.

• General impression and readability feedback within the agreed scope.

LITE editing does not represent full developmental editing or endorsement under the Tandem Joy Publishing Promise. The author is responsible for final proofreading after typesetting unless proofreading is contracted separately. A LITE client may acknowledge Tandem Joy's editorial services in a manner approved by Tandem Joy, but may not use the Tandem Joy bicycle mark unless separately authorized.

DEEP Developmental Editing

DEEP services address the big-picture work of the manuscript: ideas, structure, reader journey, engagement, pacing, missing content, organization, theological presentation, accessibility, and whether the author is accomplishing the intended purpose for the reader.

• Does the reader feel seen?

• Does this idea need further development?

• Is this material in the right place?

• What does the reader need before she can receive this truth?

• Does the work communicate truth with grace and hospitality?

• Does the finished experience align with Tandem Joy's editorial and missional standards?

DEEP development may lead to an invitation for the work to become a TJP Bike Book, but developmental editing alone does not guarantee that designation. Use of the Tandem Joy name, bicycle mark, distribution channels, or other brand assets requires specific written permission.
